Tailored Ink Solutions
We look at your printing challenge from all angles to develop an ink that achieves your intended results. That includes factoring in your printing systems, substrates, and other conditions that can affect the jetting, adhesion, durability, sheen, and lightfastness of the ink.
Compatible Substrates
Qinghe’s lab professionals are well-versed in ink formulation requirements for printing on a diverse array of surfaces and materials, which include:
After carefully considering various factors, our laboratory will determine the optimal ink formulation tailored to your printing requirements. Our inspection aspects cover:
Standardized Quality Inspection
Whether it’s one of our standard inks or a new formulation, the best way to evaluate an ink’s print performance involves testing the ink on the actual substrate. We also note when changes in the manufacturing of a substrate may change an ink’s performance.
Ink migration
We use professional equipment to conduct thorough ink durability tests, ensuring accurate and reliable data. This is crucial for customers in the packaging and printing industry, especially for labels, to maintain the integrity of packaging prints and instructions during transit and shelf life.
Rub Resistance and CoF
We use professional equipment to conduct thorough ink durability tests, ensuring accurate and reliable data. This is crucial for customers in the packaging and printing industry, especially for labels, to maintain the integrity of packaging prints and instructions during transit and shelf life.
Viscosity Testing
We evaluate ink quality through this method: Inks that maintain viscosity at higher shear rates, such as those experienced in a printing press, are considered more stable. Understanding ink stability across various shear rates helps printers determine if the selected ink is suitable for the job.
Final Product Inspection
Color Testing
We utilize a spectrophotometer to test ink color, although it's not as precise as the human eye. Thus, there might be variations despite the spectrophotometer's readings. Our skilled technicians supplement machine accuracy with industry know-how, ensuring a thorough assessment that blends mechanical precision with human perception.
Adhesion Testing
For our customized ink customers, we evaluate adhesion using ¾-inch wide Scotch® brand 600 adhesive tape. After firmly placing the tape over the test area, we swiftly remove it at a 180-degree angle. Successful adhesion is confirmed if the ink remains intact on the substrate.
Fineness of Ink Grind
We assess the pigment dispersion quality in the ink, using a grindometer to measure the fineness of pigment particles. Smaller particle sizes indicate better ink dispersion, ensuring high-quality printing results.
